All that aside, that shot in the wheat field is, as the kids say, "dope".

It's an interesting discussion. I tend to agree with Bob that when we create, we tend to create that which is beautiful to us personally normally - ie staying in our comfort zone. I have so many thoughts on this, I may write a response blog rather than getting into them all here, but for me, I feel that over time my thoughts and attitudes have changed a lot, from a more traditional male gaze attitude to seeing much more - in both an artistic perspective and in getting to know models as real people. After you have shot many models nude, it is no longer that kind of exciting, forbidden and perhaps arousing experience, but you start to normalize nudity and look for something deeper, be it art, controversy or emotion. The older I get, the less I think about a muse as someone I might partner with, either really, or in some fantasy, and the more I want to capture and share their work as art.

I think that when we create ( be it writing, composing, drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, acting, speech) we are expressing our inner self to others. I think the muses in my life were/are the key that unlocks the door to the inner most me.
